Homingo Hackathon
Code of conduct
The Homingo Hackathon is for everyone. This code applies to every participant, mentor, judge and organiser, and we expect all of us to help keep the series welcoming, fair and safe. By taking part, you agree to follow it.

Where it applies
The series is fully online, so this code covers every space we use: community chat, team and track channels, video calls, live streams, email and your submissions. It also covers how you talk about other people taking part on social media. It applies before, during and after each edition.
Be respectful
Treat everyone with respect, whatever their role. Disagree with ideas, not people. Keep your language and images suitable for a professional, mixed audience.
Be inclusive
Welcome people of every gender, caste, religion, region, language, disability, age, background and level of experience. Make space for quieter voices, and be patient with people who are new to AI or to hackathons.
Be honest
Submit your own team’s work. Credit the libraries, APIs, models, AI tools and ideas you build on. Be truthful about what your project does and how you built it.
Be constructive
Give feedback kindly and specifically, and take it in good faith. Help others learn, and remember that everyone here is learning too.
Respect privacy
Only share your own personal details. Ask before sharing a screenshot or recording of someone else, and keep private conversations private.
Build responsibly
Use open or synthetic data and never real people’s personal data. Think about how your project could affect the people who would use it.
Harassment and discrimination
We don’t accept harassment, bullying, threats, personal attacks, discrimination, unwanted sexual attention, or offensive comments about anyone’s identity, in any channel or in private messages. Repeatedly contacting someone who has asked you to stop is harassment too.
Plagiarism and cheating
Don’t submit work that isn’t your team’s, hide what you used, register more than once, or try to influence judges or mentors unfairly.
Sharing others’ personal data
Don’t share anyone’s personal details, such as their phone number, email address, location or photos, without their clear permission. This includes data from other participants, mentors and the people in your project’s sample data.
Harmful builds
Don’t build or submit anything designed to harm, deceive, spy on or exploit people, such as malware, scams, phishing, tools for stalking or generating abusive content. Don’t attack, overload or try to break into the hackathon’s systems or anyone else’s.
Spam and disruption
Don’t spam, flood channels, disrupt calls or streams, or promote unrelated products or services.
Reporting
If something feels wrong, or someone makes you uncomfortable, tell us at official@homingo.co.in. Include what happened, where and when, who was involved and any screenshots or links you have. You can report something that happened to someone else, too.
How we handle reports
We take every report seriously and act promptly. We keep reports confidential, share details only with the people who need them to look into it and never reveal who reported without their agreement. Retaliating against anyone who reports in good faith breaks this code.
If someone is in danger
If you or someone else is at immediate risk of harm, contact emergency services first, on 112 in India, and then tell us.
Enforcement
Depending on what happened, we may give a warning, remove messages, remove someone from a call, channel or the community, disqualify a participant or team, remove a mentor or judge from the programme, or refuse someone’s participation in future editions. The organisers decide what action to take after looking at the facts, and their decision is final.
